Your Drees Home Closing and Warranty

Welcome home, with peace of mind

After the excitement and anticipation of planning your custom home and watching it take shape, you're ready to close and move into your new home. Closing on your home doesn't mean closing a door on Drees' relationship with you. Our goal is to provide you with truly outstanding service, and that means not only providing an excellent warranty, but also following up with you periodically to ensure your satisfaction.

Closing your new home

Construction has finished. You've had your New Home Presentation with one of our Customer Care Representatives. Now, it's time to close. Generally, there are a few things you need to do prior to this. Here is a high-level overview of what you might expect:

First
You'll need to transfer the utilities over to your name. Drees provides a complete list of the utility companies that service our communities, so you can use that as a guide to determine which companies you'll need to notify of the change.
Second
You'll need to buy a homeowner's insurance policy for at least the amount of your home loan. Bring your policy (not a binder) and receipt for the first year's payment to closing.
Third
Make sure you read your loan commitment letter and contact your lender if you have any questions about contingencies or your loan commitment's expiration date.

At closing, you'll pay any money due, and your home's title will be transferred to you by way of a deed. And the moment you've been eagerly awaiting: You'll receive the keys to your new home.

Your Drees home warranty

Peace of mind is one of the elements that can make a custom home a happy home. Drees Home Warranties provide you with that kind of peace of mind.

The specifics of your warranties will vary by region of the country. However, most homes come with a 1-Year Warranty and a 10-Year Structural Warranty. Many custom builders' warranties are less comprehensive and of shorter duration. At Drees Homes, we guarantee your new home meets the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship in the industry, ensuring you'll benefit from years of enjoyment, lasting durability, and overall appreciation of your investment.

Service after the sale

During the construction of your custom home, you'll receive regular updates from your Builder and Market Manager, as well as participate in several quality checkpoints along the way. The Drees service you've experienced during that process continues after move-in.

About 90 days after closing, you'll receive a follow-up phone call from our Customer Care Department, followed by a home visit.

We take our customer service to heart. An independent company will conduct a phone Customer Satisfaction Survey thirty days after your closing. We are deeply committed to providing outstanding service, and your comments are critical to our program of continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. We truly want to know what you think about the construction process and living in your new home. Find out more about Drees highly acclaimed customer service.
